Overview

Kirby Feathers attended IAIA in the 1960’s where he was friends with classmate and fellow Vietnam veteran T.C. Cannon (Caddo/Kiowa). Feathers’ painting technique is inspired by Action Painting and involves energetic dripping, throwing, and squirting of paint on the canvas in a direct, yet spontaneous way. Feathers’ intentional aesthetic reflects the artist’s interest in experimentation with material properties of his chosen media.
