Harvey Herman (Sioux)

Harvey Herman attended IAIA in the late 1960’s. Herman developed his own approach to hard-edge painting. The Hard-edge painting style is characterized by impersonal execution, smooth, flat surfaces planes, and clean edged shapes and lines. Herman combines these stylistic elements with the geometric designs of his cultural heritage found in traditional beadwork and hide paintings.
