Larry Bird Littlebird (Santo Domingo/Laguna Pueblos)

Larry Bird first attended IAIA as a two-dimensional artist in 1963 and later returned as an instructor in the mid-80’s. Bird eventually took interest in the performing arts and expanded his creative scope as a filmmaker, actor, and writer. He is one of the first American Indians to produce, write and direct films for and about Native people in the United States. His black and white drawing Listen combines splatter and gestural drawing techniques and depicts a figure in between two dark, abstract fields.
